Welcome to Waco

We moved to Waco in August when Paul accepted a promotion at his company, Texas Farm Bureau. I had only been "through" Waco travelling between Austin and Dallas. We only knew Waco by its reputation -- conservative, fundamentalist, thoroughly Red State. But we surprised ourselves and we really like Waco. It's a very livable small city with little traffic, lower housing costs, good neighborhoods, a quaint downtown, even a very charming zoo. People are friendly and polite, they don't even hold my Obama bumper sticker against me. So this week's photos are going to be about Waco. This billboard greets visitors as they leave the Waco Regional Airport. It's a very small airport -- you don't even have to pay to park -- American Eagle and Continental fly in a couple of times a day. I work at an aviation business about a block from the airport terminal, so I pass by this billboard everyday on my way home.
