Once again, my daughters donned their Chinese silk finery (although in this case, I believe it's actually polyester finery, but what the hey) and we went to celebrate Chinese New Year. This year is a little different, as we are recently members of the Central Texas Families with Children from China (Waco-Temple-Belton area) and we did not know very many of the families.
There was a lot of grumbling and complaining about putting on their dresses -- at this point in their lives, they just don't like dresses, period. But, gosh, they look so pretty so I did my best to bribe and threaten (I didn't actually say threaten, did I?)
Beautiful. Don't tell Stephanie I said that!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely young ladies! I would have to threaten, er, coerce mine too and in fact with Jing even a threat wouldn't work unless it was along the lines of "wear that dress or the little dog gets it!"
ReplyDeleteGirls, you looked BEAUTIFUL!! Sure hope you enjoyed yourselves, all decked out!!
ReplyDeletethey do look soo pretty! our don't really like wearing their "silks" anymore and they are only 4 and 7 :(
ReplyDeleteWow, they look soo grown up and beautiful!!! The celebration we were at tonight was a community event so there were MANY women dressed in their finery. Your girls would have fit right in!
ReplyDeleteThey look so beautiful and so grown up. I hope you all had a great time.
ReplyDeleteThey look beautiful! Wow!
ReplyDeleteThe girls look beautiful!!! Makes me wish I had gotten on the stick and bought silks for E and H -- they've outgrown all the ones we have.
