Seeing the Big Picture

Rachel participated in the Technology Olympics for blind and visually impaired students today. Several vendors demonstrated special reading devices for printed material or computer screens. Rachel turned the camera lens on herself.

She made a poster for the event, called the Amazing Race for Technology.

This machine makes text REALLY REALLY big.
This is a nifty little portable gadget that magnifies text. As some of you know, Rachel was born with cataracts and had them removed when she was 3, shortly after she joined our family. She has bifocals and uses a monocular and a 4x magnifier at school. She receives services at school for VI from one of her favorite teachers, Ms. Riggs.
