Squirrel Acrobatics

Paul put bird feeders in front of the picture window in the front of the house, and outside the French doors in back. We can watch the back yard feeder while we eat. This squirrel gives us hours of entertainment as he hangs from the feeder. I think he'll just keep eating until he bursts, or the feeder runs out of food.

It's hot!

Stephanie is not very comfortable in the kitchen, unless it's making Ramen or pasta from a box. She got a lesson in how to make Shake n Bake chicken, but was fearful of the oven.

Since I've got some time on my hands, I'm cleaning out drawers and throwing away stuff. But I ran across this page in a journal that Rachel wrote just before we went on a Panama Canal cruise last December.

Top one reads: Dear god,
I can't wait till we get on cruiseship. It is going to be so much fun. When is your son co...ming down from heaven? Love, Rachel.

And to Santa:
Dear Santa,
Are you going to deliver the gifts on the cruise ship? Can you tell my elf that he or she is a hard worker. Thanks by! Love, Rachel.

Taking advantage of Rachel's absence as well as my unemployed status to do some cleaning and decluttering. Rachel's room after three bags of trash removed and a large quantity of books and stuffed animals taken to Goodwill.
My computer area was cleaned and organized, too!

Portable scanner

I saw this recommended on one of the geneology boards for scanning documents or photos at libraries or other places. I need to practice more with it but it's very nice to have. Now I just need to get off to the library and the courthouse!
