Bluebonnets

We love our bluebonnets. Every year, we scout out the best patch of bluebonnets and dress up our kids and plop them down in a field of blue. We tell them to smile and not to worry about the bugs or that they're itchy. Just one more. And we ignore the cars whizzing by as we angle the shot to make it look as bucolic as possible. We step gingerly, keeping an eye out for fire ants.

This year the bluebonnet pickin's are very slim since it's been a very dry winter. Small patches are cropping up here and there. Perhaps with the rain that's expected tonight and all this week the bluebonnets will make an appearance.
