Strange Yellow Flower
This flower was in bloom at the Carleen Bright Arboretum but I saw it growing by the road in another location. I've never seen it before. All of the flowers grow upwards and it's a large, gangly bush.
Looks like it's in the mimosa or acacia family, with those opposing leaves. Sorry I can't be of more help - if you have a chance to take a better look at it, you can try using a dichotomous or polyclave key to identify it... or take the photo to a good quality garden center.
