My messy desk

I'm generally a neat person. I clean up the kitchen right after a meal. I make my bed before going to work. I straighten the pillows on the couch. But for some reason, organization seems to elude me at my home office. The narrow counter just below the china cabinet seems to be the gathering place for everything.

Last Day of School

Last day of school, and Stephanie and her BFFs are celebrating. They had a dance at school, the yearbooks were signed and now they are off to the movies to see UP.

Who's Behind Those Ray-Bans?

Is it Lisa Ling? Gong Li? Lucy Lu?

No, it's my 6th-grade-about-to-be-a-7th-grader, Stephanie. She has a host of parties to attend this week to kickoff the summer, so she needed new shades.

Scott & White

I took off work early and drove to Temple, Texas, about 30 minutes away, to see the orthopedic doctor at Scott & White. I got turned around just finding the hospital, but a nice lady at the information desk escorted me to the correct place to check in.
I have been having some pain in my right shoulder, on down to a numbness in my fingers. The x-rays of my shoulder only showed some minor arthritis, so he scheduled me for an MRI of my neck next Friday. I was able to get in to have Nerve Conduction Velocity test on my wrist and forearms. The technician hooked up electrodes to about 10 places on each hand/forearm and "ouch!" shocked me. If someone had alow threshold for pain I can see that this test would be unbearable. Now we'll see what's going on.

Splash

Rachel and I tried out the YMCA pool this afternoon. Our small town does not have a municipal pool and we no longer live in a subdivision with a pool, so we joined the Y.

Off to School

Rachel and Stephanie now leave the house together on their way to school. They walk to Stephanie's bus stop, about a block and a half from our house, and then Rachel continues another two blocks to her school.
